This beautiful Antique Edwardian Suffragette brooch has been modelled in 9ct Yellow Gold to form the shape of a ‘Witch’s Heart’. It features and array of Pearls, a beautiful 0.08ct cabochon cut Peridot and a gorgeous 0.08ct cabochon cut Amethyst.
Witches Heart Jewellery became popular during the Georgian Era with Lovers gifting each other with a witch’s heart as a love token to symbolise that they had been bewitched with love.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White stones which were chosen to counter the masculine women’s rights stereotypes put forward by opponents. Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes!
A wonderful brooch which features intricate detailing around its edge and will look fabulous when worn.
